Our Story
Born from conviction, driven by purpose.
We founded 22nd Century Africa Institute (22CAI) to create an African-led platform where historical insight, technological innovation, and human capital shape transformative ideas and policies for the continent.
Built on the conviction that Africa's future cannot rely on imported models alone, 22CAI is rooted in the continent's own intellectual traditions, lived experiences, and cultural dynamism.
With the world's youngest population and unprecedented opportunities for growth, Africa stands at a defining moment. Yet too often, policies fail to reflect the continent's unique realities: its history, its people, and its vast potential. 22CAI exists to bridge that gap.
